Quick & Easy Chia Breakfast

A quick easy raw breakfast is chia cereal or pudding. Chia seeds pack a mighty punch and are considered a superfood. They are high in fiber and a good source of Omega 3’s. They are also a good source of minerals including calcium and magnesium. They are raw and gluten free so just by choosing these little seeds you are off to a great start.

If you like the thick texture of pudding then you can make your little chia seeds into a pudding by combining them with nut milk and letting them sit for a few hours or overnight. If you are not a huge fan of the pudding chia texture you can use chia in your smoothies, trail mix, salads or use it without soaking it.

Since I like mine as a cereal I mix mine just minutes before I am going to eat it. I start with the fruit and chia seeds and then pour my almond milk right on top.



Raw Breakfast

Give it a little stir and it is ready to eat.Of course I love to added extra crunch and nutrition to my meals so I have added about 2 tbs of hemp seeds and some wildcrafted bee pollen. You can add a few more items such as cacao nibs, goji berries and walnuts to make it even more tasty and give it a bit of crunch. Give it a good stir and you are ready to go. A easy breakfast in minutes.

If you are used to a sweet breakfast you could use a sweeter fruit in place of blueberries. I don’t need to add any sweetener to my milk or cereal as I have moved away from sweet tastes (most of the time). However if you need a little bit of sweetener to get you started you can add a pinch of stevia or even coconut nectar. For a thicker creamier milk you could use macadamia nut or even coconut milk and that will provide you with some extra fat and calories. Make sure to stir so you don’t get any clumps.

TIP: Put all of your ingredients in a glass mason jar and put the lid on it. Shake Shake Shake and it will be totally mixed up. Mix at home if you are in a rush and bring to work in a mason jar.

If you want to go all out or are having company you can make this into a fancy treat for breakfast or even dessert. Layer your chia pudding with a fruit puree and place it in a fancy glass.
