Vanilla Green Smoothie Recipe-Kid Friendly

by Sasha on June 10, 2015

This simple smoothie is much more than just a sugary boost of fruit. I have been using this for my entire family for the last week with great success. It is super simple but is very balanced in that there is some greens, fruit, fat and protein in it. All of that without compromising the taste and good simple enough for my 8 year old to eat and filling enough for my husband to take a jug to work.

Vanilla Green Smoothie Recipe

Vanilla Green Smoothie

2 Cups Filtered Water

1 Cup Frozen or Fresh Mango

1 Large Handful of Spinach (preferably organic)

1 TSP of Flax Seeds

1 TBS Pumpkin Oil (Hemp Oil or Coconut Oil will work too)

1/2 -1 Frozen Banana

1-2 TBS fermented food ( coconut yogurt, coconut kefir or if you choose to you could use dairy kefir yogurt)

2 TBS Vanilla Protein Powder (Sunwarrior, Vega, Hemp Protein, Garden Of Life, Fermented Greens to name a few)

Blend until smooth and creamy and drink or store for later. I use a Vitamix so my flax seeds are ground up but if you are using a blender that does not grind them you many opt to use ground flax seed instead. Enjoy!

I would love to hear from you. What are some of your go to smoothies for your family? What is your favorite protein powder?
